Does only the GPU matter? The truth is that not, also the CPU and RAM. But let’s go by parts … The first thing is to comment that the CPU Rendering uses all the cores of your CPU 100% therefore, it would be good if the parallelism is the maximum possible. This leaves AMD microprocessors such as Ryzen 9 or TR (Threadripper) in a very good position, which have configurations of 16 or 32 cores. In the case of Intel, the Core i9 are at a disadvantage and their prices are much higher.

Find a workstation with as many cores as possible for your budget. It does not matter that the cores are not as efficient or that their clock frequency is not so high. This is not a video game, other things matter here. Remember that the rendering engine assigns what is known as a “bucket” to each core. When you finish processing that bucket, the kernel becomes free and begins processing the next one, that is, the more cores available, the more simultaneous buckets it can process.

Processors are the lifeblood of any busy laptop model. For 3D modeling, try getting Intel Core i7 HQ or HK processors. These next-generation processors would work well for most 3D modeling projects, but try not to use CPUs beyond 6700HQ as the extra power won’t be of much use and you will spend a fortune on it.
